Electrical Engineer

Innovima, a technology company requires Power generation equipment and system design engineer to support the R&D and Engineering team in the area of power generation technology 50MW to 500 MW in Captive, Industrial or Utility scale. Knowledge of Power Electronics and building & testing prototype electrical generation system will be added advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • This position will be part of our engineering team with a focus on heavy electrical equipment and electrical systems typically found in power generation, heavy manufacturing facilities, Electrical equipment will include but will not be limited to:
    • Power transformers
    • Electrical switchgear
    • Switching devices
    • Variable frequency drives
    • Rotating electrical equipment
    • Industrial electrical load distribution controls and storage
  • Working knowledge on Power Electronics, Motor Control, Motor Drives. capable of detailed design and analysis of high-power solid-state switching, power systems, power conditioning, power conversion, high voltage, power magnetics, battery systems, protection & filtering circuits
  • Determines load balance, voltage, sectionalizing, power factor, and load studies on new and system improvement line extensions in order to recommend optimal system configuration.
  • High Power Solid-State Switching, Power Conditioning, DCDC & ACDC Power Conversion, High Voltage Protection Circuits, High-Speed Communication Circuits, and Digital and Analog Controls, Familiar with common electrical standards
  • Short circuit & Load flow calculations
  • Assist with hardware prototyping and debugging
  • Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods; testing finished products and system capabilities.
  • Have a familiarity with power system studies; grounding grid analysis; relay coordination studies; and arc flash analysis for substations and distribution facilities in industrial plants.
  • Have excellent interpersonal, written and presentation skills with the ability to communicate engineering subject matter to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience writing technical papers is a plus.
  • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Design, develop and manage the control systems
  • Knowledge on PLC control panel specification/design
  • Fundamental understanding of various control strategies and conversion topologies
  • Supervises the maintenance, installation, calibration, and repair of a variety of electronic instrumentation, metering devices, electrical equipment, process control computers and peripheral equipment;
  • M-Tech in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or equivalent
  • 03 – 05 years of experience in core electrical equipment & system and power electronics fields.

Chemical Engineer

To take leadership responsibility in working with Engineering – R&D. Chemical Engineer is responsible for researching, developing, calculating, applying necessary chemical processes, gather information, data and samples in order to test them and find the best method, material or product to use for an application.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conversant and hands-on experience in chemical/ process/ energy industries engineering design tools.
  • Conversant and hands-on experience in heat and mass transfer including process optimization and energy balance.
  • Working closely with Engineering – R&D and Product Management Department in designing plant and equipment configuration so that they can be readily adapted to suit the product range and the process technologies involved, taking environmental and economic aspects into account.
  • Collect and analyse field data related to energy sector.
  • Inspect or evaluate building envelopes, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or process systems to determine the energy consumption of each system.
  • Setting up scale-up and scale-down processes including appropriate changes to equipment design and configuration. Prototype and pilot plant experience will be an added advantage.
  • Assessing options for plant expansion or reconfiguration by developing and testing process simulation models/ tools.
  • Designing, installing and commissioning new production plants, package units including monitoring developments and troubleshooting.
  • Optimising production by analysing processes and compiling de-bottleneck and revamping studies.
  • Applying new technologies in energy management and combustion technology.
  • Researching new products from trial through to commercialisation and improving product lines.
  • Ensuring safety compliances in design & development. Acquainted with environment design compliances and statutory environment regulations.
  • M-Tech in Chemical Engineering / Energy Engineering
  • 8 - 10 years
